The ‚God-gifted list‘ was a list compiled in August 1944 of more than a thousand artists whom the Nazi state considered to be particularly worthy of protection. The list recorded figures from the visual arts, literature, music, theatre and architecture. An entry brought advantages for the cultural elite of the Nazi state, protecting them, among other things, from being deployed at the war front.
Many Jews used to live in Germany.
Hitler and the National Socialists persecuted these people.
They expelled and murdered the Jewish people.
And they stole her things.
Robbery is another word for theft.
The stolen items also included works of art and books.
Jewish people sometimes collected books and works of art.
Because they were particularly fond of books and works of art.
They then had valuable works of art at home.
Some stolen artworks and books are now in museums and libraries.
The museums and libraries want to return the stolen items.
