For many years, German cultural institutions have been dealing with the consequences of the National Socialist theft of art from Jews.
Provenance research not only brings to light the origins and routes of the artworks, but also the stories of the people to whom the works once belonged.
Many of these life stories are now told in multimedia form on this website.
The Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation and the Bavarian State Painting Collections have set it up together with Bayerischer Rundfunk and Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg and will continue and expand the remembrance project in future together with the Dresden State Art Collections and the German Centre for Lost Cultural Assets.
